Beautiful Creative – Design and Project Management

Overview

Collins Adelaide is one of Australia’s leading logistics and transport providers, operating across multiple locations and service areas throughout the country.

Working in collaboration with Beautiful Creative, who led the strategy, design and project management, my role was to develop a custom WordPress platform that delivered a modern digital experience while providing the flexibility required to support the company’s ongoing growth.

Challenge

The website needed to serve multiple audiences, including prospective customers, job seekers and industry partners.

This required a platform capable of presenting a large volume of information in a clear and accessible way while remaining easy for the internal team to manage and update.

The challenge was balancing flexibility and scalability without introducing unnecessary complexity into the content management process.

Approach

A custom WordPress theme and content management system were developed to support the wide range of content and functionality required across the site.

Key functionality included:

  • Flexible modular content components.
  • Dynamic hero and promotional content.
  • Careers management with filtering and pagination.
  • Location directory with interactive mapping.
  • Video content integration.
  • Multi-step forms and enquiry workflows.
  • Responsive navigation and user journeys.
  • Reusable content structures for future expansion.

The platform was built around a library of reusable modules, allowing the Collins team to create and maintain content while ensuring visual consistency throughout the website.

Result

The result was a scalable digital platform that supported multiple business functions within a single website experience.

The custom CMS provided a streamlined editing experience for content managers, while the modular architecture created a foundation for future content growth without requiring ongoing redevelopment.

The site successfully combined recruitment, service information and location-based content into a cohesive user experience that reflected the scale and professionalism of the Collins brand.

Why this project was interesting

What made this project particularly interesting was the breadth of user journeys that needed to be accommodated within a single platform.

Visitors might arrive looking for transport services, employment opportunities or information about a specific location. Designing a content structure that supported these diverse pathways while remaining simple to manage highlighted the importance of thoughtful information architecture and content modelling.

Projects like this reinforce that successful websites are often less about individual features and more about creating systems that allow information to be organised, maintained and discovered effectively over time.
