Pixel Pusher is an independent digital studio based in Australia, led by Robert McIntyre.
For more than 18 years I've worked across websites, ecommerce, digital campaigns, integrations and custom systems. Over time, one thing became clear: businesses rarely come looking for a website.
They come with a problem.
Sometimes it's a website that's difficult to update. Sometimes it's disconnected systems creating extra work. Sometimes it's an ecommerce platform that no longer fits the business. Sometimes it's simply not knowing where to start.
The right solution might be a custom WordPress website. It might be Shopify. It might be an API integration. It might be fixing something that's already there.
My role is to understand the problem first, then find the most practical path forward.
No unnecessary complexity.
No lock-ins.
No rebuilding things that don't need rebuilding.
Just well-considered digital solutions that help businesses move forward.
Pixel Pusher works with growing businesses, agencies and organisations that need a trusted technical partner.
Some projects involve building something new. Others involve improving, connecting or untangling what's already there.
The scale changes. The approach doesn't.
Understand the problem.
Build the right solution.
Make it easy to manage.

I've always loved programming. When I was a kid, I bought a book on tweaking operating systems for performance and somehow managed to make the family Windows XP computer boot and run super smooth.
My first website was for my mother's business, and she taught me my first valuable business lesson: don't build the website you want for the client, build the website that suits the client.
That first site had large images, fancy animations and all the bells and whistles I was excited about at the time. The problem was, the people using it were on slow dial-up internet and didn't need any of that. So I rebuilt it with the user in mind, and it worked.
I've always been fascinated by how things work, how they fit together and how they can be improved. That curiosity eventually turned into a career spanning more than 18 years across websites, ecommerce, digital campaigns, animation, integrations and a whole lot of problem solving.
Along the way I've worked with businesses of all sizes, creative agencies, startups, government organisations and not-for-profits. While the projects have been different, the reason people usually call me is the same:
Sometimes that's a website. Sometimes it's disconnected systems, an ecommerce challenge or a technical roadblock slowing a project down.
What I enjoy most isn't the technology itself. It's figuring things out, finding a path forward and helping people make sense of the digital world without overwhelming them with technical jargon.
