Overview

Food For Everyone brings together chefs, artists and food lovers through a unique concept: transforming recipes into collectible artwork while supporting food relief initiatives.

Working alongside ACG Creative, who led the creative direction and design, my role was to develop a Shopify platform that balanced ecommerce, storytelling and content management while supporting the organisation’s mission-driven approach.

Challenge

The website needed to be more than an online store.

Customers weren’t simply purchasing posters; they were engaging with the stories behind the recipes, the collaborating chefs and artists, and the broader social impact of the organisation’s food donation initiatives.

The challenge was creating a platform that could seamlessly connect products, recipes, collaborators and editorial content while maintaining a simple and intuitive shopping experience.

Approach

The website was developed on Shopify with a custom theme tailored to Food For Everyone’s content-rich ecosystem.

A series of interconnected content structures were created to support:

  • Recipe content and editorial storytelling.
  • Chef and artist collaborator profiles.
  • Ecommerce product management.
  • Journal and blog content.
  • Customer support and account functionality.
  • Future campaign and partnership opportunities.

The platform was designed to allow products, collaborators and recipes to work together as a connected experience, encouraging visitors to explore beyond individual purchases and engage more deeply with the brand’s mission.

Result

The result was a flexible ecommerce platform that successfully combined content, community and commerce.

Visitors could move seamlessly between recipes, collaborator stories and products, creating a richer customer experience than a traditional online store. The structure also provided the Food For Everyone team with a scalable platform capable of supporting future collaborations, content initiatives and product expansion.

Why this project was interesting

What made this project particularly interesting was the relationship between storytelling and ecommerce.

Many online stores focus entirely on products and transactions. Food For Everyone required a more holistic approach where recipes, artwork, collaborators and social impact all contributed to the customer journey.

Building a platform that could connect these elements while remaining intuitive for both customers and content editors highlighted how thoughtful content architecture can strengthen both engagement and commercial outcomes.
